Ugreen rolled out its new Nexode 140W Charger Tuesday, saying it “can charge as fast as any charger currently on the market, while also being able to fast charge three devices at once.”
The compact charger has three ports to charge MacBooks, iPads, iPhones and other devices. I plan to review it soon.

The Ugreen Nexode 140W Charger features three ports and 140W of total charging power, with one port or divided among three ports. Its PD3.1 fast-charging protocol allows it to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro from 0 to 56% in 30 minutes, Ugreen said.
The charger adds flexibility with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. It can fast charge two laptops and a phone at the same time, or a laptop, phone and tablet.
As a gallium nitride (GaN) charger, the Nexode 140W charger is 22% smaller than the Apple 140W MacBook Pro charger, according to Ugreen. It’s sleek and rounded enough to serve as a travel charger, with folding prongs and smooth edges, the company said.
GaN technology allows for more efficient charging and heat dissipation. A GaN chip lets the charger deliver more than 92% of the energy from the wall directly to your device, Ugreen said.
The Ugreen Power Dispenser system intelligently adjusts the power output to protect your product’s battery, so it will last longer. And to protect your charger from overheating, the Thermal Guard system takes 200 temperature readings every second, Ugreen said.
Additionally, GaN technology is doing a lot to reduce carbon emissions. According to Ugreen’s GaN chip partner, Navitas, GaN chips produce 4kg less carbon per chip compared to silicon chips. They anticipate the GaN chips in the Nexode chargers will save 5,503 tons of carbon from going into the atmosphere.
The Ugreen Nexode 140W Charger goes for $149.99 at Ugreen or Amazon.
